Learning Adventures went on a field trip to The Wild Animal Park and had a great time. Lizzie and Krislynn loved all the animals while they explored with all their friends. Lizzie loved the lion and wanted to pet it, but I think we will save that adventure for another day. Krislynn loved the baby elephant.

Happy Easter

We had a fantastic Easter. We got to watch General Conference from the comforts of our home, and then go over to Oma and Papa's to meet some of David's cousins that came down from Utah. Lizzie and Krislynn had a great time meeting more of their cousins while playing outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.

AMY & ME!

Well my great friend Amy and her beautiful girls (minus her husband Jason) came to visit us, and oh did we have a great time! 5 girls under the age of 5 under one roof couldn't equal more fun. David needed some man time due to the 7 girls in his house, and he thought only 3 was bad. :) This is how lame I am and I only got one picture, but at least it is of us! We went to the library for story time and a craft, then to McDonald's for lunch and energy release, then David whom I love so much watched all the girls and Amy and I got to go out for a Girl's Night HOORAY!!! Amy took some family pictures of us, and then they were back on the road again. A short visit, but so much much!!!
Thanks again Amy for such a fun and eventful visit!

FHE Eggtastic

We had a great time dyeing eggs this year. Lizzie loved sticking her hands in the different colors and watching the eggs and her hands turn the colors of the rainbow. Krislynn just loved spending time with her daddy. Lizzie is excited to make some deviled eggs with all the pretty eggs in the fridge.

Lizzie and the Dora Kite

Lizzie and a couple of her friends got kites, and Lizzie was dying to use hers. So we went to the park and flew her kite. She loved riding on her Daddy's shoulders and running all over the park to help her kite stay high in the air, but then she wanted to try it herself. She did a great job, but now Dora has a couple holes in her.
$1.00 Dora Kite=A happy joyful Lizzie

Lizzie and the Blue Gluestick

The scouting den mother asked if I would make a cake for the Blue and Gold Banquet. She wanted blue and gold frosting. I decided that would be gross to eat, so I used blue frosting and blue and yellow(gold) M&M's to decorate it. Lizzie watched me make the entire thing, and I told her NOT to touch it! Then I called Jet Blue to deal with some issues with a flight we are going on in a couple months (2 Hour wait) I go into our office to look at some paperwork and Lizzie continues to watch the Wonder Pets... a couple minutes later Lizzie checks on me, and shuts the office door (strange, but I don't take a double thought about it) Then Krislynn starts to scream. I go into her room, and get her and take her into the kitchen (still on the phone with Jet Blue) Lizzie is looking out the window (I'm thinking someone is at our door... look out the peak hole... no one is there) then I said Hi to Lizzie, and she turned around and this is what I saw...

(immediately thinking she touched the cake I run into the kitchen, and feel my heart drop to the floor since the scout den mother will be here in less than 10 mins.) The cake is untouched HOORAY! but what is all over Lizzie's face? Then I start walking back into the living room and I see this...Blue is all over my wall, window sill, blinds, window, and then there is something grey on the wall too. What can it be? Not frosting... hmmmm. Then I move the blanket... and there it is!

Lizzie drew on the wall and her face with blue glue stick! I'm trying not to scream at her (still on the phone with Jet blue) and the kind man asks me if I'm all right, I explained what happened, he laughs and tells me he will put me on hold so I can clean up the mess!
OHHHH LIZZIE!

My goals for 2010

So this year I made some BIG goals. Usually I slack off and never really get past January. This year has been different! I needed something to take my mind off the horrible issues of 2009, and do something to help me to heal.
Well my goals are:
#1: No more soda
#2 Run the Disney half marathon
So the past 8 weeks Andrea, Jenny, and I started our training to get us ready for September (The Disney Half Marathon) I never realized that I could be so dedicated to something I haven't really done since College. But, I run/walk 4 miles 6 days a week and take Sunday off for my body to rest. It has been an amazing experience and I crave my morning workout. Pushing a 60+ pound double jogger and running is tough work, but each day I get out there and push myself a little more. It is amazing the road blocks you can put up for yourself. I NEVER thought I could be a runner, but I love it! I have major knee issues, but since I have started my training my knee has done great.
I have found more friends in our ward that love running too, and our conversions keep coming back to it, how running is so addicting.
Well in the past 8 weeks I have made some MAJOR SIDE GOALS to add:
#2a. Run the Del Mar 10K in preparation for Half Marathon. May will be my half way mark to the half marathon and what not a better way to prepare right?
#2b. Do the Riverside Tin Man Triathlon (75 meter swim, 5K run, and a 10 mile bike ride)

So there you go Blogging World...My new additions to my year! I will keep you update on my progress, and the joy in the journey. As of right now pushing a jogger: I'm at 11:30 min mile. My goal is to get to a 10 min mile.

P.s. My most fablous news is that since Krislynn was born I have lost 53 pounds! PARTY!!!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie!!! Happy Valentine's Day Honey!

This year I wanted to make something for my Husband that he would love!!! My friend Andrea has the BEST cookie recipe, and thought it would be perfect for my husband since he LOVES her cookies so much!!! I found this idea about a month ago on BLOOM, and thought what a PERFECT treat! If you have ever been to the Dodo Restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah they make a cookie pie kinda like a poozkie from BJ's. All this consists of is a pie crust and whatever cookie recipe you love, and then you pop it in the oven for 30 mins @ 375 degrees.
I hope your Valentine's will be as sweet as mine!

Parker's 5th Birthday Party and QUAKE cake

I can't believe Parker is 5! Time sure flies, and he is such a great brother and cousin. Lizzie loves her Parker, and can't get enough of him. She loves to wrestle him, and show him how strong she is.
Happy Birthday Buddy!!!

Shauna made Parker's QUAKE Cake. The cake wouldn't come out of the cake pans, and then it couldn't be frosted, so she melted the frosting and poured it on to hook it all back together. Then she used blue gel pens to write on the cake and all that equals... BLUE TONGUED PARKER'S!

BUSY LIZZIE # 413

So the past couple weeks I have been potty training Lizzie, and let's just say there are days that I think to myself, "Why am I doing this?", "Maybe she is too small?", "Am I CRAZY?" But overall it has gone well. During the week of rain we didn't leave the house once, and I was about to go insane, but I thought this is the perfect time to work on it since we really couldn't leave anyways. I tried to see if Lizzie was ready to try a couple months ago, and there were no successes then... one night I was online doing what I do best, and I found a FREE Dora Potty Training package (a Dora pull-up, Dora sticker chart, Dora stickers, coloring page, a Dora trophy, and some helpful hints to use) The rain came in, and the Dora package came out. There were multiple accidents, and only a handful of successes... I consulted friends to see what worked for their kids... and nothing worked for Lizzie. I was about to throw in the towel so I went online to see if I could find any help there, and the 2 tips that worked for Lizzie was....

Tip #1: Fill child up with tons of liquids, push liquids HARD!

Tip #2: Take the potty in front of the TV, and let the child sit and watch their favorite show.

These 2 tips saved me! Lizzie was hitting the potty regularly, and we had very little accidents. I'm not saying she is a 100% now. We have our occasional accident, but usually she makes it, and is super proud of herself. I still haven't figured out how to get her out of a diaper at night, but you need to take on one challenge at a time. Also she is using the BIG potty now , and loves to sit there and read all her books. Last Sunday I pulled her out of Nursery, and she went 3 times on the BIG potty at Church... HOORAY!!! I'm still nervous to put her in BIG GIRLS PANTIES when friends are around since she hates to stop playing when her friends are over.. but that is another challenge in itself.

* FUNNY STORY: Yesterday Lizzie told me she had to go potty so she rushed into the bathroom, and proceeded to go number 2 while I was feeding the baby. She told me she wiped, and I looked no poop. She flushed... end of story... WRONG!!! In the middle of her going potty she stuffed an entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet, and the toilet almost overflowed. I called David to see what I should do, and his answer... reach in the toilet, and pull it all out. I'm not one for fishing in the toilet when brown logs are floating around, but I did what I had to do, and now the toilet is back and ready to use.

Santa is coming to town... oh wait... he is early!

I have a picture of Lizzie in the Santa suit when she was the same age as Krislynn, but I couldn't remember where I had placed it during Christmas time... so here she is!!! I know it is totally late, but who cares... she is adorable!

Lizzie loves to smile for the camera too!
