Breakdown 101

Why is it when you are with your kids non-stop 7 days a weeks without any breaks (besides nap and nighttime) they want to be right by your side even if Dad is in the other room and they haven't seen him for more than 5 minutes the whole week? I just don't understand it. Lizzie is with me ALL day long so you think she would get sick of me, and when Daddy gets home push me aside for someone new to play with.. WRONG!!! She loves her Dad don't get me wrong, but she is stuck to me like gum on a shoe. I love her to death, but she doesn't understand that Mommy needs a 5 minute break sometimes to gain her sanity back after long days of high pitch screaming and a rambunctious child who has so much energy that I think sometimes she stole the batteries out of the energizer bunny and she just keeps going and going and going.

Well this was one of those days.. We had just ate dinner and I needed to write some emails about upcoming events that were taking place. If you have ever been to our house you have seen the gate that is in front of the office door so Lizzie cannot come in since we have important papers everywhere, and lots of fun stuff she would LOVE to touch. Well normally if I'm in the office she will stand at the gate and cry a little bit, and then run off to play toys or read books in her room.. that was not the case this day. She saw me at the computer and threw a blown out tantrum... I have never seen her like this. It went on for about 10 minutes. I needed to get these emails out so I just kinda ignored her... and shut the door to the office. Which wasn't the smartest thing on my part because it escalated the issues 100 fold. She FREAKED OUT! after David trying to calm her down and nothing working David brought her to the gate and knock on the door and when I opened it this is what I found...

Lizzie said, "Mommy in please!" I took down the gate and gave her a big hug, and she was happy as a clam! Kids sure do know how to play the Mommy card!

Ward Party at the Pool

Our ward has some super great activities! Lizzie was super excited about this one especially since it involved WATER!!!! Lizzie loved swimming with Daddy, and all her friends from church. She loved hanging out with Eddie and Tyler who would help her swim around the pool to help her catch her Daddy. I enjoyed watching all the fun while I sat on the sidelines with Krislynn.I really wanted to jump in since it was averaging 106 that day.

Thursday we went to Disneyland and Mommy wore Daddy's hat. I thought it was such a great hat that I have been wearing it everywhere we go. I wear it in the car, I wear it to church (but Mommy and Daddy made me keep it in the car till after Church), to Grammy's house, and while I play in the house. I just love my Daddy, and that he let's me wear his AWESOME hat!

P.s. Check out my toenails.. Mommy painted them pink for me! I love my toenails painted since I get to show them off to everyone I meet! (1st polish experience)

A Great Friend!!!

I have a great friend who takes such good care of my girls for me. The other day we were out and about, and I was busy so she took my diaper bag and Krislynn and changed her diaper for me. (GREAT FRIEND huh?) Well we continued on with the day, and when I got home I got Krislynn ready for a diaper change to my surprise I found this....

Okay if your not a mom you might not understand what I found.. let me describe it for you with the next picture...

*Krislynn wear size 1 diapers which is the Big Bird Diaper, but my super great friend put a size 5 diaper (Lizzie's size) which is the Mickey and Minnie diaper on Krislynn. I don't know if she just grabbed the first diaper she saw, and wala the day went on, but I just thought it was so funny! (But on a more serious note: I'm glad she put the size 5 diaper on her because she had a massive blowout in her pants, and the size one would not have been able to hold it all)

Off to Grammy and Grandpa's House we go!!!!

We went up the mountains to visit my parents, my sister, and her family for dinner. Krislynn had a great time playing with her Grammy, Grandpa, and cousin Justin. Justin was the 1st one to make Krislynn laugh out loud. We love going up the mountain to visit our family and get a break from the heat.... plus Lizzie got her Gigi fix for the week!! but the major plus is my mom's home cooking... SO YUMMY!!!

My Hero!!! Marla Marie Ontko

I know most people's hero are famous or distinguished, but my hero is neither one of those in the world's eyes. But to me she puts all those hero's to shame! My hero is my sister in law Marla. Ever since the first time I met her I knew she would always have a special place in my heart. She is the kindness most sincere person you will ever met. Her love for the Gospel inspires me, and pushes me daily to better my relationship with my Savior. Her smile lights up a room no matter how dark it is, plus her hugs are priceless. She is the BEST mom! and that is no overstatement.. you can ask anyone... whenever I have a rough day with the girls I give Marla a call ,and she just helps me laugh it off.. then we reminisce about Parker and Lincoln at this age and all the fun I have ahead of me (drawing stripes on the younger sibling, poop art on the wall, going fishing in the tub, puddle jumping, sick days, food fights, or clever phrases to get out of something: "I wasn't spitting, I was pretending to be an elephant" ,"We didn't make a mess, we were building a castle", or "We're helping you find something", sleeping with sunglasses on during nap time,and the list could go on forever) Thanks Marla for always being an amazing example to me. You help me to not stress over the small stuff, but find the fun in all things. She can find the best in all people, and is an amazing example to all. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father blessed me so that she could be such a big part of my life. I know she isn't just my hero, since so many people look up to her, and cherish her in their lives as well.

Thanks Marla for all you do for our family, you are truly a blessing to all you meet and come in contact with. We love you!

AOTW # 10 Disneyland

We headed to Disneyland for the adventure this week. I was a little nervous to drive there by myself with the two girls, but Shauna kept reminding me that I could do it. The drive was going good till about Yorba Linda, and Krislynn decided to get mad, and was done with the drive since she had a messy diaper. So I got to hear about it till I hit the parking structure at Disneyland. I got the girls ready, and we were set for a great day. I met my sister and her kids there and we had a great time. Lizzie loves hanging out with Gigi and Gigi (Sierra) Lizzie calls everyone Gigi on my side of the family. We danced and sung our way through California Adventure, and I even got to ride California Screamin with the kids thanks to Gigi. It was a great day and the girls loved it!

Happy Birthday Lincoln!!!

For Lincoln's Birthday we headed to The Islander in Riverside. It was perfect for the kids since they have a little kiddie pool for the kids to play in, and tons of grass to run and explore. Lizzie was enjoying the pool till she tripped and fell face first in the water and could get up (That was her 1st drowning experience) I was a mess.. running 3 steps and jumping in the pool to rescue her, but the lifeguard got to her first. She was so scared, and just wanted to be held. (Don't worry though.. she was back in the water a couple minutes later splashing the other kids) She is one tough cookie!! We enjoyed our time there, and Lizzie and the other kids enjoyed the cupcakes.

1st Battle Wound from her Older Sister

Since Krislynn has been in our life we have been TRYING to teach Lizzie to be soft. Some days are better than other, but this was not one of those days. Lizzie was a little too rough with her sister and she has a battle wound to prove it. Poor little Krislynn!

Walmart Here I Come!!!

I'm so proud of myself!!! A week and a half ago I tried to take the girls to get their pictures taken at Walmart. I thought I had all areas covered since I invited my parents to tag along so I would have some EXTRA help. Let's just say it was a DISASTER!!! Lizzie wouldn't sit still, smile, or hold her sister. It was loads of fun!! The whole time I'm there I'm thinking to myself "Why am I doing this to myself?" I just wanted to go home and cry and NEVER go out in public again without David. It didn't help that an older lady was trying to give me advice while I was there about taking care of my girls, since she was a champ since she had 4 girls of her own. Sometimes I enjoy the advice from people, but at this moment I was about to explode. Krislynn was screaming and Lizzie wouldn't sit still, then she poured juice all down the front of her dress.

So this week I knew I had to try it again, but by myself... If I couldn't go out in public by myself I think I would go crazy. So this morning I got us all ready to go, and fed Krislynn right before we got into the car. Lizzie and Krislynn were ANGELS while we strolled around Walmart. Seriously it was a tender mercy from the Lord!! but when we hit the car Krislynn started screaming, and I knew the trip was over. I needed to go to Target as well, but with a screaming baby and no David I figured I did pretty well!

FHE at The Danielson's

Monday night we headed to the Danielson's for FHE to celebrate Kris and Jaren's birthday's. We had a great time visiting all the family, plus Krislynn got to meet some more family members. Krislynn loves playing with Delaney her new BFF.

Krislynn and Lizzie had some visitors...

Liz and Tyler came over to see our new house plus come play with the girls. Krislynn loved hanging out with Liz and Tyler. She gave them quite a show. Lizzie also enjoyed having them come over and play. Lizzie decided that she was going to play dress up with Tyler. I wish I got a picture of it. Lizzie was give Tyler different necklaces to put on. It was so cute!

But the BIG visit was from Michelle, Brielle, and Jessica. They were so excited to see the girls, and we had such a great time visiting with them. Lizzie loved playing with Jessie and Sierra she was in heaven. They played in her tent and chased her around the house. Lizzie was so sad to see them go, but hopefully we will get to see them again soon.
