A walk to see the horses

A beautiful sunset as we walk to see the horses. I love being out of the city where the hustle and bustle of the city bombards your daily life. There is so much open land where we live. We are so blessed to live here.
The horses and goat that live down the street from us.
Lizzie doesn't quite understand what this huge thing is. As you can tell by her facial expression, but after a couple carrots she really did enjoy herself.
Lizzie and Mommy with the horse. Sorry horsey no more carrots! He wasn't too pleased with us, but at least he let us take one more picture with him.
David, Lizzie, and I have been taking walks everyday before dinner. Lizzie enjoys spending time in her stroller where she can experience a variety of new things. It is her favorite part of the day. She knows that when Daddy gets home that means it time to go see the horses.

Jack Attack!!!

Piano Prodigies

Today Parker and Lincoln graced us with their famous rendition of Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th symphony. They chose to play the piece using presto fortissimo making the piece very loud and at a fast beat. They used a rondo form for the piece making it very balanced and serene while also using perfect intervals throughout the piece as well. These boys are amazing!!!!

Diaper Baby to the rescue

When you have diaper rash and need some relief....
CALL DIAPER BABY

When you're on the go and need to go...
CALL DIAPER BABY

*FOR ALL INQUIRIES DIAL 1(800) DIAPER-1

This post goes out to all the mother's that have diapering issues each day. Don't laugh you know that there are plenty of stories to share.
FOR EXAMPLE: this morning Lizzie and I were playing in the living room when I noticed we needed to change her diaper. So we did our normal routine.. lay her in her crib and start unsnapping her jammies while lifting her up and flapping the legs of her jammies up behind her back so I can change her... Well today was one of those day when I need Diaper baby to come to the rescue. After picking Lizzie up I notice a warm stench running down my right arm. When I laid Lizzie down I noticed she had pooped from bottom to top and top to bottom of her jammies.. IT WAS EVERYWHERE!!!! and don't you love it when they can't control their arms and legs and somehow they spread Mr. Poopie everywhere. I didn't know where to start cleaning first. Each time I would get an area clean miraculously Mr. Poopie would show himself again. So after 25 wipes, a call to diaper baby, and a good long bath Lizzie is clean as can be :)

A Blast From the Past

So as you can tell I am not ashamed of the past so I thought I would post this goofy picture of myself. If you knew me my senior year of high school this would be a normal picture you would see of me. I went up to Provo to visit Ashley Leatham "Patterson" in her dorm. Her roommate Cherice, Ashley, and I thought it would be funny to draw on my face with an eyeliner pencil and make me look like a pineapple. I know what you are thinking.. "Katrina what the heck were you thinking?" and my answer to that question would be I like to be silly and make people laugh. so let me finish explaining this picture... you are probably wondering why I am posed the way I am right? I ran around Ashley's floor saying to anyone that passed me "Kon ne chiwa!" It means Hello in Japanese... Ashley thanks for the blast from the past.. and to remind me how silly I can be.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Here's looking at you Dad... Happy 83rd birthday. We love you so much, and can't wait to celebrate another great year with you! Thanks for being such a great dad to all us kids. You are the best! We couldn't ask for a better dad than you! Here are some pictures from his birthday

Valentine's Day... what is Valentine's Day?

This Valentine's Day consisted of a variety of:

bouquets of flowers for people living in the Riverside/Moreno Valley areas

Valentine chocolate for the people who enjoy chocolate
and fluffy teddy bears for their special loved ones.... as you guessed I worked at SueLin Florist this Valentine's. When you work with flowers at that time of the year, recieving flowers just isn't the same. You see multiple bouquets an hour and package them to go here and there and EVERYWHERE! Valentine's needs to be a time where you shower the ones you love with special gifts that are from the heart... This year David and I celebrated V-day the day before since I would be so busy at the flower shop. David and I went to the temple to do a session, and on the way out the Redlands we stoped at Chikfila for some food. After the session we went to Toyko for some sushi and got my favorite the Redlands Roll (this is an excellent choice if you love sushi) then we went to Dairy Queen for a Rootbeer freeze. I had never had one... it was so yummy.

I have been want a nice digital camera forever, and this year my dreams came true. I had been looking at cameras and everything was out of my price range since we are saving up to buy a house, but one night I was looking on Craig's List when I came across the best deal. A Canon Rebel camera, 3 compact flash cards, a camera case, a flash driver, and everything in its original packaging for a grand total of $350.00. I know what a deal right? Well the guy we bought it from used it a few times, but wanted to upgrade to a better Canon so all in all I got the camera I was wanting at a fabulous price.. thanks hunny for the great gift!!!
This year I wanted to get David something special, instead of something of the ordinary. He always has such a tense back so this year I got him an hour massage. He was so excited! I can't wait for him to use it! hopefully it will help loosen up his muscles in his back.

Love Story

Where did you meet your husband?
We met at Chelsea Green’s house before going to the YSA New Year’s Eve Dance in 2002. I was seeing someone else at that time, but I thought he was cute. Ryan Nichols (David’s best friend) and David just got new Volcom Jeans, and that is all they could talk about… He gave me my 1st New Year’s Eve kiss of the night (It was on the cheek…)

What was the first thing he said to you?
"Katrina check out my Volcom Jeans… Aren’t they great? Look at all the pockets!” It was cute… He just loves his jeans

When was your first date?
I heart-attacked his house and asked him out for a Valentine’s Day Extravaganza. I told him to dress to impress… Oh he looked so hot that night. Susie Chatham helped him pick out a new shirt for that night, and helped him pick out flowers (Thanks Susie!!!) I had 2 bags one that had different slips of paper that said, appetizer, soup or salad, main dish, and Dessert & in the other bag I had David write down his favorite restaurants (Papa John’s, In-N-Out, TGI Fridays, Panda Express) Then when we got in the car he pick a paper from each bag and then drove to the designated destination. We first went to In-N-Out and had dessert (as you know shakes are the closest to dessert that they have.) Then we drove to Panda Express and had the main dish of Orange Chicken half fried rice and chow mein. Then we drove to TGI Fridays and had soup, by then we were so full so we skipped out on the appetizer at Papa John’s. We returned to David’s house and went hot tubing, and then we went over to Ryan Nichols house and watched Sweet Home Alabama and fell asleep. We all woke up at 3 am (you need to know that I lived an hour away from David) it was late so I spent the night at David’s house on our first date… Who can say that?

When was your first kiss?
Well our first kiss was in David’s hot tub on our 1st date on Valentine’s Day 2003. I wanted to kiss him so bad. I was throwing out all the right signals that I wanted him to kiss me, but it wasn’t working… I was getting impatient so I just went for it, and kissed him on the forehead and then he FINALLY kissed me. If you ask David about this he would tell you that he was making me wait so I would want it more, and that I wasn’t the first one to go in for a kiss since I kissed him on the forehead.

Long/Short Courtship/Engagement?
Okay if you count before he went on his mission (1 year) waited 2 years (mission) and then we were engaged 5 months after he got home. I think that is a pretty long courtship. We had our ups and downs, but we sure did have a lot of fun. David and I had talked about getting married before he left on his mission, and when we would like to get married when he returned home. After he returned home from his mission we dated, and got to get to know each other again face-to-face after 2 whole long years. David and I were driving down to Temecula to pick up a picture at the Ensign Bookstore that my mom had bought for me for my birthday. After picking up the picture David drove me down to Oceanside (one of our favorite beaches) to stroll down the beach and talk about life. (The whole time I’m thinking he was going to propose the next day in Palm Springs) After walking up and down the pier we sat on the beach and watched the waves crash on the beach, David became really quiet all of a sudden. I got cold (what is new?) and we proceeded to the car where I got my jacket. It is one of our favorite things to walk out on the jetti so we started walking out on it; the sun had set and the rocks were wet. After we got out all most to the end of the Jetti David whispered sweet nothings in my ear, and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I stood there in total shock the only thing I could do is cry and laugh… (I know I’m so lame!) After a minute David asked me again since I gave him no response. I said yes of course! Then we called David’s parents in Florida and my parents to tell them the good news. We were engaged a little over 4 months… the LONGEST 4 months of my life

When did you get Married?
We were sealed in the Redlands California Temple on October 13, 2005! Greatest day Friday the 13th! Then we had our reception the following day in Redlands at the Asbury’s home. Their backyard had a beautiful view of Redlands and the whole Inland Empire.

Where did you honeymoon?
David’s parents let us use one of their weeks with their Marriott Timeshare. We went to Mazatlan, Mexico for a week. It was amazing. If you want to go somewhere tropical, and you don’t have much cash in your pocket totally go to Mazatlan. We had such a great time and ate such yummy food!

The people that are tagged are the people who read this... Unless you are sick of being tagged... Just post a picture of you and your Honey! I'll be looking!

The Wild Animal Park

The start of our very fun day at the Wild Animal Park. Sierra was so excited to see all the animals, and let them know it was her 6th birthday. Lizzie loved seeing all the different kinds of animals. Her favorite was probably the rhinos. Lizzie loved spending time with her cousins and aunt and uncles. What a great day to spend as a family.

Adventure of the Week

Lizzie went to Escondido to visit her Grammy and Papa this week. She had such a great time playing with them. Lizzie loves to coo and try to communicate with everyone. She is starting to smile and play now. She is growing so fast. At her last check-up she weighted 12.1 lbs and was

23 inches long. As you can tell she loves to eat... She is so excited to go and play with her cousins tonight at the condo, and go to The Wild Animal Park tomorrow.
