Adventure of the Week #2

This week we headed back into the heart of Hemet and attended a Fall Festival with lots of games and fun. Lizzie loved all the kids and wanted to play the entire time. She especially loved the paint center! When we started walking away I notice that paint had gotten all over her face and hands... thank goodness for wipes! She got to do a ring toss, but mostly she thought eating the bottles were so much better than play the game. She also got to play in the bat cave, but she wasn't so sure about this activity... she sat right by Angel and just kept looking into the cave but wouldn't budge. The lady even brought out the treat to her.. she was a little skeptical of the whole thing.

Too busy looking at all the other kids...

Loving the witch hat...
Not so sure about the bat cave...

Next, we headed the the HEMET ZOO!!! where we saw lots of different animals. I think Lizzie liked the white horse the best since she kept feeling its nose. The Zebras didn't want to play today, but we did see a pregnant goat.

Then we headed to McDonald's for a treat. The kids were kinda bummed since the play place was closed since a kid barfed in it, but we had a great morning! Thanks Kera for letting us in on the fun!

Tune in next week to see where our adventure takes us...

OMA & PAPA Came for a visit

Oma and Papa came out last night to come and visit. We always love when they come over, and Lizzie especially can't wait till they get here so they can play. Lizzie tried on her costume and took a couple pictures. She is going to be the cutest butterfly! She looks like a drunken sailor when she walks in the costume since it has so much fabric.
Thanks for the visit!!!

Poop...Poop.. GALORE!!!!

So if you have a quizzy tummy this might not be the post to read. I feel like the worst mom ever! I don't know what I did wrong to deserve this... Lizzie has been having these BOMB poops lately, and she gets it EVERYWHERE!!! This is the 2nd time this week in her crib where she has had an explosion in her crib. In the morning I let her play in her crib and play. Well this morning was not like every other morning... I went out into the garage to spray paint David's shirt for his costume I was out there for probably 10 mins at the most.. then I hear Lizzie playing like normal so I come in and wash my hands and head into the danger zone... To my surprise I found THIS!!! Poop.. poop.. GALORE!!!! She was covered in it.. her bed was covered in it, and the floor was covered in it. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? SO as I get Lizzie out of her bed and run into the bathroom TO get her in the tub she is flinging poop everywhere... I'm SERIOUSLY going to pull my hair out... she was so proud of herself, happy and smiling!!! Maybe she just like the texture of her poop?

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT!!!!

SATURDAY FUN

The Trails I LOVE morning dewDaddy and Lizzie enjoying the walkTired LizzieSleeping Lizzie
David and I decided that we were going to start walking on Saturday's together. There are some fun trails over by our house, so we thought we would hit the trails and enjoy our time together. Lizzie loves walks and especially LONG walks.. you can tell by the pictures... it knocked her out. We walked the trails then over by the Shumaker's house and around their neighborhood then down some side roads since we saw some garage sale signs, and back to our car. We had a great time!!! But the highlight of the day was when we saw this garage sale sign... oh how I wish we got a picture... it said, "Neighbor gard sail" it was priceless! Thanks for stupid people who can't spell to make my day.

Adventure of the Week #1

Well Chelsea Fenn gave me this great idea... about doing Adventures on the Week. She has a book with all of these different places to take your kids that are kid appropriate. SMART IDEA HUH? Well I tried to find a book like that for our area, but I had no such luck so instead I'm making my own up. This week we headed into the heart of Hemet, CA. Where we found the Mary Henley Park. This park is a great place for your kids to play, plus it has a 3/4 mile walking trail around the park. You can get a workout plus let your kids play. Kera, the kids, and I had a great time. Lizzie is learning to love the swings.
Tune in next week to see where our adventure leads us!

Lizzie & IN-N-OUT

Well last Friday was a sad day... It was David's last Friday off. We sure loved spending an extra day with him. Well we decided to have fun while it lasted so we ran some errands and Lizzie enjoyed her very 1st In-n-Out. I think by her expression you can tell her love for the simple things in life. She had a great time playing with her hat, she kept turning it around and thinking she was a pirate... then we headed to Lowe's for some things... Lizzie LOVES to look at the Christmas stuff and watch all the different things sing and dance. Well she especially LOVED this reindeer hat and nose. We couldn't get a picture with both the hat and the nose on so we hope you enjoy our lil reindeer!!!

Lizzie is WALKING!!!!

Super Yummy Funnel Cake

I was reading Stacy's blog and she said she made funnel cake, and I thought that sounded so good!!!! So I looked up a recipe online and WALA!!! Here it is....This is the county fair type funnel cake recipe. Light and fluffy, that gets dusted with powdered sugar and served hot for a fun and tasty treat. Funnel cake doesn't have to be a once a year treat...you know!

Ingredients:
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions:

1. Beat egg and milk. Mix all other ingredients and slowly add to the egg mixture, beating until smooth.
2. Using a funnel, drop into hot oil working from center outwards. Remove from the oil when golden brown and crispy.
3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, then top with freezer jam, and strawberries, and a little cool whip and serve.

Thanks Stacy for the yummy idea!!!

Strawberry Jam

So my friend Kera thinks I'm so domestic since I cook all the time and make different things. Well this morning before play group I whipped up some Freezer Jam. It is so simple, plus it is so Delicious!!! Once you have freezer jam you will NEVER buy jam or jelly at the store again!
Recipe:
3 pint size jars
2 cups crushed strawberries
4 cups of sugar (this is probably what makes it so good!)
1 box of Sure Jell Pectin (Int he yellow box)
3/4 cup of water
  • Prepare fruit: Use a food processor or potato masher to mash the strawberries very finely. It will have bits of fruit in it.
  • Measure 4 cups sugar and put in separate bowl
  • Stir sugar and prepared fruit together. Mix well. Let stand for 10 minutes, stir occasionally
  • Stir 1 box of pectin and 3/4 cups of water in small saucepan. Bring to a boil on high heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 min, Remove from heat.
  • Stir pectin into mixture of fruit, stir constantly until sugar is completely dissolved and no longer grainy, about 3 mins.
  • Pour into Jars, leaving 1/2 inch space at top for expansion during freezing, cover
  • Let stand at room temp. for 24 hours until set. Then put in refrigerator or freezer. Will last in fridge up to 3 weeks, and freezer up to a year!!!

ENJOY!!!

Our little Butterfly

We thought it would be fun to take Lizzie to get her pictures taken for Halloween since she looks SUPER cute in her costume, and we haven't had pictures taken in a while. So we hopped in the car and headed for Wal-Mart. With a little picnik's help I think the picture turned out pretty well. I especially love the spiders hanging from Happy Halloween! Lizzie loves her costume and would wear it everyday if I let her... She can't wait till Halloween.

MARRIED FOR 2 YEARS...

We met at: Chelsea Green's (Stewart) parents house in Corona on our way to the New Year's Eve Dance down in Long Beach
Our First Date: Valentine's Day 2004 ( we had a night out on the town) Soup and salad: TGI Fridays, Main dish: Panda Express-Orange Chicken, Dessert: In-n-Out Shakes played in David's hot tub, and watched a movie over at Ryan Nichols house, and I spent the night at David's House (1st date=sleepover)

David left for his mission to Cherry Hill New Jersey January 2004 after hundreds of letters later he FINALLY returned February 2006

We got engaged: On the beach in Oceanside, CA out on the jetty. David took me down to the beach and we walked up and down the beach talking about life and during sunset he walked me out onto the jetty and asked me to be his wife.

We got married: The Redlands Temple on October 13, 2006 we spent our first night together at the Mission Inn in a beautiful suite, and then we had our reception on October 14th in the Asbury's backyard overlooking the Redlands temple.
5 months after being married: We got pregnant with Lizzie our pride and joy. She was born on November 28th, 2007, and she is turning 1 next month.

So two years ago today we were married in the Redlands temple... I can't believe how fast time flies by when you get married to your best friend. These 2 years have been amazing and I'm so thankful for such a thoughtful and patient husband. Heavenly Father really knew the kind of man I needed in my life.. and blesses me each and everyday with DAVID! After seeing him on New Year's Eve in 2002 I knew I wanted to date him, and shortly after we starting dating I knew he was the one for me! After sending him off to New Jersey for two LONG years and a whole lot of letters later he came home, we starting dating and then on Friday, October 13th 2006 we got married in the Redland Temple for all time and eternity. He knows me better than anyone else, and even though he says he can't read my mind I will love him forever.

For our anniversary this year we went to our favorite restaurant in Riverside Ooka.. It was so yummy. If you haven't been there I totally suggest you try it. We always share the meal for two: steak, chicken, and shrimp veggies, fried rice, and noodles :) my mouth is watering since I'm visualizing it... Then we went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Play list. It was a funny movie :) Thanks Brandon for telling us about it. We had a great night.. Thanks Oma and Papa for watching Lizzie so we could spend some time alone with each other. Tonight we are going to BBQ some steak and watch our wedding video and reminisce our life together...
