Okay first of all I'm giving props to Chelsea Fenn. She has been making all these way super cute colleagues of events that happen in her family. She FINALLY gave out her little secret about how she creates them. This whole time I thought she was using some scrapbooking website or a super expensive program, but she wasn't.. she was using Microsoft publisher mixed with clip art and google images. So I decided to try it out... and WA-LA!!! Here is my first try at it. It was easy and fun to work with... the only issue I had was layering different images so CHELSEA if you could help me that would be awesome. Sorry no new pictures, but I found these pictures on the craptop and I thought they would be fun to work with. 2 little love birds!!!!
THANKS AGAIN CHELSEA FOR SHARING ALL YOUR GREAT IDEAS WITH THE BLOGGING WORLD!!!

Hooray for the New Year!!!

Well I'm so glad 2008 has gone, and 2009 is here!!!! I know that kinda sounds strange to be glad another year is over, but I'm happy to start with a clean slate and a healthier family. I'm usually overly excited for Christmas each year, but this past year I was happy for it to come and go. I was still in my 1st trimester and sick as a dog. We got a wonderful flu/cold in our house that has wonderfully lasted over a month now, but the doctor thinks it is just allergies with all the strong winds lately. It is hard to have the Christmas spirit when you feel like you have been ran over by the garage truck five billion times, and then he wants to come by just one more time for kicks. I sorry to all our family members who didn't get their presents wrapped this year, but at least I made it to the store and bought them for you :) Christmas involved sitting on the couch watching videos and PBS, and hoping Lizzie wouldn't pounce at any given moment. Drinking hot water since it felt good going down my super sore throat, and wishing I was drinking a chocolate shake from In-N-Out. Staying in my jammies for days, and hoping no one stops by to see how we are doing because it was a frightful sight. Trying to get excited about Christmas baking, and wishing I could call on the elves in the book "Elves and the Shoemaker" to make 5 zillion goodies to pass out to all my friends an neighbors, and just wishing each second that my head would just explode to make my sinus headache come to an END!!!!

So as you can tell the Holidays were kinda hard on me this year with all the different elements of Christmas and sickness weighing on me... but with a lot of time to think (thanks to Kera for always enlightening me.. with her time to contemplate) I wanted this New Year to help me in more ways than none.. I know each year people make resolutions to change certain things from the past year. I have always been HORRIBLE at keeping my resolutions so this year I just wanted something different. Something to spark my interest and help me get though this rut I had myself in... Our Ensign (church magazine still gets delivered to David's parents even thought we have lived in our house over 7 months.. I really need to change the address) but going back to my point we finally got our Ensigns that I always forget to pick up. I love reading all the different stories and they are always enlightening. I came across the October issue and was flipping though the pages in bed one night, and I came across an article on Visiting Teaching and stories from different sisters around the world how Visiting Teaching has touched their lives. I have always been a firm believer that Visiting Teaching is something that was sent from God. The different ladies had such strong testimonies (firm understandings and belief) about the power of visiting teaching and how important it is. The stories touched my heart... and made me want to become a better/BEST visiting teacher. I know sometimes we feel that by just going by and teaching a simple lesson or making a loaf of bread seems tedious sometimes, but I know that the ladies I visit teach need me, even though sometimes they don't think so :) ex: it was late in the month and we are able only to visit this sister on Sundays due to her work schedule. It was the last Sunday and she was busy, but I felt inclined to drop off some goodies and a conference message that I felt would inspire her. I took it to her door and gave it with an open heart even though I was late that month, and felt silly for my simple goodies and talk I included. A few weeks later I saw that sister in the hallway at church, and she came up to me and gave me a huge hug, and said thank you; that is exactly what I needed. I know if we just follow the simple promptings of the Holy Ghost and follow though with it, we won't be sorry. We are blessed in numerous ways when we serve one another with simple acts of service. The following Sunday I was sitting in Sacrament Meeting in my brother and sister-in-laws ward for their daughters blessing. It was fast and testimony meeting too, which I usually have a hard time listening to since Lizzie is such a busy girl, and trying to explore and meet everyone. Thanks to my wonderful Husband and father-in-law I was able to listen to the meeting and able to be inspired by the simple things that the people had to share with us. How amazing it is when the words are just for you to hear, and are able to touch you in a variety of ways. I'm grateful for these amazing experiences and how such simple things turn out to be tender mercies from the Lord.

San Jacinto Ward Christmas Party

Well thanks to the Bodell's for letting me steal this beautiful collage from them. Lately it seems that I'm not updating on my blog as much since I have been sick for the past 3 weeks and feeling like I'm going to die any second, but I found this on their blog and what a perfect way to add a little Christmas cheer to our blog.I can't find the wire that connects the camera to the crappy computer so I can get the pictures up on my blog, so thanks again to the Bodell's for taking some pictures of our family so that our blog is kinda caught up. I admire all the people out in the blogging world who have been so good (ex: Chelsea Fenn, Katie Bodell that keep us so updated) I need that fire again to keep my blog/journal of family events more updated. You girls are my inspiration!!! Hopefully I will get the other computer fixed soon and get back to blogging the right way.

P.s. We had a great time at the San Jacinto Christmas Party thanks to the Bodell's... certain people did not like the loudness coming from our table or our children running all around, but I think that is the joy of the Ward Christmas Party. Others might disagree, but at least the kids had fun!!!

P.P.S. Katie if you would upload other pictures of my family that I could use on my blog that would be super!!!! I will keep checking your blog for more pictures.. thanks again!!!

We have a computer again!!! HOORAY!!!

Well I'm sorry to all the people who follow my blog and have been wondering why there have been no postings for quite a LONG time. Our computer CRASHED Christmas Eve and we have been without communication since then... but that goodness for the crap top as Kera says... My parents have been borrowing my laptop for my mom's personal solitaire time. Well we got it back so now we are connected to the real world again.. finally :) Who knows when our other computer will get fixed do you know anyone who fixes computers for cheap? Please let me know. when I try to turn it on the screen goes blue and says it is dropping files.Who knows what that mean? I'm so computer illiterate. Thanks again mom for saving the day, and bringing my laptop to me. The blogging world thanks you a million times :)

A Visit with Ashley and Randy

It is always fun to visit with Ashley and Lil Randy. Lizzie loves playing with her buddy, and the mommies always like to get together and talk about old times, and all the sill stuff we did growing up. Lizzie and Randy loved going to Kohl's and looking around the toy department. I really wanted to get Lizzie a shape sorter where you place the different shapes and in the holes, since Lizzie loved playing with Jocelyn's. Well Kohl's usually have really great deals on their toys, but I guess with Christmas coming up theyreally wanted to give me a GREAT DEAL!!!! I got one for $3.50! I know I'm a great shopper right? Ashley you so should have gotten one!!! Check out Kohl's next time you need a gift...

12 Month Stats

Well Lizzie went in for her 12 month check up and she did really well even though she had to get 3 shots and her blood drawn... I NEVER would have thought that Lizzie at her age would have to get a needle put in her arm.. It was so sad I felt so bad for her, plus the nurse couldn't find her vein so she was digging it around in her arm. Poor baby!!! Well Lizzie is still good size. She is 2' 7.75" tall, she weighs 26. 2 lbs, her head circumfance is 45.7 cm. She is 75 percentile with her head size, and she is in the 95% for height and weight!!!

Are Pink Ear Plugs really Marshmallows?

So the other day Lizzie was playing in the bathroom while I was taking a shower and got underneath the sink and pulled out my Sleep Pretty in Pink Ear Plugs.. I don't have them because David is a LOUD snorer... but for taking test... it helped me concentrate better... try it!!! Well I noticed that she grabbed the package just like the one above and took it into my room where I couldn't see her... she was SUPER quiet for a couple of mins. and I kept calling her name and she would never come into view... so I did what all mom's would do and get a little nervous. I hurried and finished my shower and as I turned the water off here comes Lizzie and she had opened the package and had pink ear plugs in her hands.. Not thinking anything of it I hurried and dried off and picked up all the ear plugs she dumped on the floor. She wasn't too happy with me and began to cry... Now let's flash forward to Saturday morning... I'm in the shower and David was changing Lizzie's Diaper and he came in, and asked me if Lizzie had been playing with ear plug lately.. I said yes, and kept washing myself... Then David opened the shower door and showed me what was inside her messy diaper.. and there it was a HOT PINK EAR PLUG!!! I guess she thought they were marshmallows :)

Oh Busy Lizzie!!!!!

I can't believe it!!!

Yesterday I asked Lizzie if she dropped her cutie (orange slice) on the floor... not expecting her to respond... she said "I DID!" David and I looked at each other and couldn't believe it. I asked her later that night if she pooped... and she said, "I DID!" and she really pooped!!! My girl is growing up way TOO fast, and she makes me laugh daily... I love all the cute little things she does and says.

Introducing...York Peppermint Patty

Here are some pictures of our new baby. You are probably wondering why we named the fetus York Peppermint Patty... Well if you have ever watched Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving Special.. Peppermint Patty invites HERSELF over to spend Thanksgiving with Charlie Brown. If you watch the show you won't know if Peppermint Patty is a girl or boy. It looks and acts like a boy, but I found out she is a girl. So we thought it would be fun to name our fetus Peppermint Patty.. David added York to it as well. So that is the end of the story... You might be wondering what we are going to name the baby since we have such interesting names for the fetus...If it is a BOY its name will be David Holden or if its a girl Krislynn Marie

Lizzie's Birthday pictures

Lizzie ALWAYS takes the cutest pictures, but let's just say people should never take pictures RIGHT when a child wakes up. Usually JC Penny Portraits are running behind so you usually sit there for about 15 mins while they are taking pictures of other peoples kids. Well this wasn't the case! I walked in a couple minutes early to my appointment and I was really for the chat about how they are running late.. blah...blah...blah.. instead they were"Thanks for coming in!!! We are ready for Lizzie" She had just woken up, and she wasn't not ready to take pictures!!! Don't people understand kids? Well at least I got these shots. Next time I'm going to ask them to take the people behind me first so my child will be ready to smile!!!

Sedona Part 1-The Boys

I had to throw this picture in.. Lizzie just looks susper cute in Uncle Lenny's Hat

The boys had a great time bonding this trip. They spent countless hours down playing tennis or basketball, mini golf, golf, hot tubbin', or any other activity they could do together. We had a great time visiting with all the family that came to Sedona, AZ. The weather was cold and snowy most of the time, but of course it got beautiful the day we left. Sedona is suppose to be the "MOST SPIRITUAL PLACE ON EARTH" since all the vortex's meet there. Let's just say I didn't feel any of its positive energy, but other family members did. Sedona is a beautiful place and the rock formations are spectacular, and the red rock is amazing!

Sedona Part 2-Feeding the Homeless in Flagstaff

Thanksgiving Day we drove up to Flagstaff, Az to feed the homeless. It was a great experience and I totally suggest it to any family. We were able to help prepare the food, serve, and clean up. This food kitchen had a great staff, and the people we came into contact with were blessed they were able to receive a hot meal since it was below 30 degrees outside. I hope my family continues this tradition, since we were able to bless others lives, and able to ponder how lucky and blessed we really are. The cook at this food kitchen was AMAZING!!! At the end we were able to taste some of the food, and let's just say that the food was WAY better than the food we ate this Thanksgiving.

Sedona Part 3-Parker Fun

The Parker family came up to see us and we had so much fun with them. We were sad that The Shumway's couldn't come up and play too... hopefully we will be able to see them soon. We love when we get to visit with the Parker family they are so much fun. Well when the boys went off on one of their adventures the girls did what girls do best... SHOPPING!!! the outlets in Sedona are not the best, but at least they have a GAP, and that made me happy! Lizzie stayed home with David so she could get a nap since she needed one desperately. Thanks honey for time with the girls. We had a great time... but just let me tell you if you ever visit Sedona DO NOT... let me repent that... DO NOT EAT AT THE CAFE IN THE OUTLET MALL. It was disgusting to say the least. My patty melt with bleedy and I asked for med. well and Gigi's food had hair in it.. The service was horrible and the waitress was NOT helpful.
